Shimla Pinks

Cracking little find. Wanted something close to De Montfort Hall and this little gem did not disappoint. Welcomed by friendly and attentive staff, served with really decent quality food in good time and in a tastefully furnished area of the restaurant with a nice ambience.We will certainly be returning in the future.

Both the food and the service were excellent. I had the honey glazed pork chop for a main course - it was so tender and very tasty! Moany our waiter was attentive but not pushy - exactly what you want.

After having eaten here whenever we go to a concert we were extremely disappointed this time. We were the only people in the restaurant though it was early. The food was bland and not up to the usual standard. The premises looked tired and it was quite chilly. The toilets were musty and smelt damp. Usually the food is great along with the staff but it seems to have lost its spark.

Eaten here fairly regularly over the last 10 years, and have come to expect outstanding food, unfortunately based on last night visit… it’s gone downhill. The vegetarian platter and our curries were distinctly average… the saag aloo was a high point but this was clearly made with puréed frozen spinach. The starters were less tasty and less in terms of variety than usual and the mushrooms burnt. Such a shame. Has the restaurant changed hands?

Disappointing- food has gone downhill

We had a fantastic evening with great food and service. The food was delicious with plenty of choice to suit everyone and I love being able to see into the kitchen whilst they prepared our food. We were a large party of 16 (tables split between adults & lads!) but no-one had to wait for their food and our evening service was seamless. This was our first visit to Shimla Pinks, but will certainly not be our last as we&apos;ll definitely return when we&apos;re back in Leicester!!

A great find in excellent location with exceptional service - a little gem!

Food was okay this was the best place like 8-9 years ago, the quality of food was epic. This time round the service getting the bill was extremely slow and place wasn’t busy and then when bill came they put service charge, I refused to pay this to the waiter he then brought the manager and he removed the service charge and went really mardy no professionalism whatsoever when we said bye there was no smile or hospitality. Back in the days the staff and the food was better won’t be returning again after this experience.

Friends birthday meal

The whole lunch experience was not as expected because the food was good but the service was indeed slow and delayed. The ambiance also lacks a certain warmth and the staff is not very friendly while taking orders. The main course was alright hence overall a very average experience.
